Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Weekly Roundup

12.20.2016

Mom {Gigi} came in town last week to visit.  She picked a great week to visit...at least 2 of us were sick and another bit the dust yesterday.  I was diagnosed with strep the day before she arrived and Theo a few days after.  Needless to say, the house smelled like a lysol factory for the week.  Madelyn got the sickness yesterday...and pink eye.  Thankful she was here to help out!  Once I started feeling better, Tim and I were able to get out for a couple date nights.

Tim has been teaching Theo a little bit of drumming.  And I might be bias, but he's already good!!

Christmas Singin'

12.19.2016

Last Sunday night, we had our Christmas worship night at church.  The choir and kids sang and focused on worship.  The kids had been singing their songs in the car for the past couple months and loving them!  The choir sang one with the kids and it was a lot of fun.  Love singing with my baby girl.

Life Updates

12.09.2016

I mentioned in a post a few months ago that we have a few updates.  The first happened in August..yes, I know that was 4 months ago.  I was on my way home from a shopping center and got rear ended getting off the highway.  Not one, but 2 cars hit me.  Nothing like getting hit when you're stopped.  My first accident and it shook me up pretty bad.  I had a couple months of physical therapy for my neck and back.  Still in some pain, but hoping it will get better.  My highlander was totaled.  But thankfully, we were able to buy a car from a family member.  Thanks to John (hi John!) for helping Tim and Theo pick it up!

I've added a few more post from late October and November if you haven't seen them yet:
Theo's 4 1/2 Year Update, Thanksgiving, Tom & Izzy's Visit, Halloween

Theodore: 4 1/2 Years Old

11.26.2016

Theo boy,

It's your half birthday!  We are so in love with you and your little personality. You are the sweetest boy and so kind to others.  But boy, when you get upset, you sure let it be known.  When you don't want to do something, definitely stubborn and don't give in easily.  We know you're testing the waters to see what you can and can't get away with. You'll figure it out buddy!  Love you to the moon and back bubba.

Here are some of your 4 1/2 year old stats:
You weigh 32 lbs. and are 39" tall

You wear size 10 shoe, 4T shirts, 4T pants and PJ's

Some of your favorite foods are nachos, fruit, cheese and crackers, hot dogs, pepperoni, yogurt and rolls

Napping occasionally in the afternoon for around 2 hrs.  Depends if you have school.  Going to bed around 7:30pm and getting up around 8am

Started Parents Day Out/Preschool in September and love it....your friends, teachers, activities, everything.  Walk right in the door with no turning back.

You still love chatting all the time.  To whoever will listen.  We love your little voice.

Your favorite shows are "Paw Patrol", "Cars", "Dora" and "Snoopy"

Some of your favorite things are: coloring and cutting paper, legos, play doh, playing just about anything outside, railroad tracks and playing with sis

Thanksgiving

11.25.2016

Thanksgiving this year was spent in North Carolina with Tim's side of the family.  We headed up there the Wednesday before and stayed the night.  Got in quite a bit of traffic getting there.  What should have taken 3 hours took about 6.  But...we finally made it.

Tom & Izzy's Visit

11.02.2016

Our dear dear friends Grandma Izzy and Grandpa Tom came for a visit at the end of October.  We hadn't seen them for almost a year so it was about time!  We miss them so much.  Like a whole lot.
For the most part we hung out at home so they could see what our life looks like now, play with the kids and Tom did quite a bit of work around the house.  He and Tim painted the baseboards, did some wall touch up paint, put hardware on our kitchen and bathroom cabinets and cleaned up some of the front flower bed.

reading time

We did manage to take them down to Market Square and the Sunsphere.  Theo's favorite place.  He was so excited to take them there.  We went up, looked around, then ate some southern food at Tupelo Honey.

Halloween

10.31.2016

The kids had so much fun this year on Halloween.  Madelyn dressed up like a butterfly and bubba boy was a dinosaur.  His first choice was a worm, but we couldn't find one that fit him and well, I don't sew.  So, a dinosaur it was.

Fall Break Trip - Part 2 - Baltimore

10.17.2016

If you missed part 1 of our trip, you can read it here. Our last full day we spent in Baltimore near Valerie's place.  First stop was the train museum.  Both kids loved seeing all the trains and doing the kids activities.

After the train museum, we headed to the Inner Harbor.  This is the downtown area of Baltimore.  It was fleet week so we saw lots of boats!  Ate lunch down there and did a little shopping til the kids were worn out.

We headed to Valerie's house for a steak dinner before headed back to D.C. for our last night's sleep.  The kids had fun on the neighborhood playground and in Val's back yard while dinner was being cooked.  This week we had the perfect fall weather to visit.  No rain, 60's to 70's during the day, lovely.

Back to Tennesse we go!  Thanks for being such great hostesses, Amy and Valerie.  Hopefully we can come back soon!

Fall Break Trip - Part 1 - Washington DC

10.16.2016

Finally a blog update.  You're welcome Tee!  I have a few life update posts to come, but for now, I'll give y'all a summary of our fall break trip.  Both kids had last week off for a short break from school.  We decided awhile back to use this time to visit Tim's sisters in Washington D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland.

It took us about 9 hrs to get there.  The kids did pretty well in the car.  Thanks to the DVD player, leap pad, coloring, car games and snacks.

Ready to roll!
 Cracker Barrel for lunch

Madelyn: 5 1/2 Years Old

9.20.2016

Madelyn girl,

Today you are 5 1/2 years old!  You woke up this morning so excited knowing you're a little bit older.  Then reminded us you are close to being 6.  Oh girly, stop growing kid.

Tonight we had cookie cake for your half birthday party.  You loved it!

You weigh 40 lbs and are 42.5 in tall
Wearing size 5t tops, pants and dresses.  Size 10/11 in shoes.  Your favorite clothes are still dresses, skirts and cute shoes.
Your favorite foods are pizza, mac and cheese, fruit, noodles and cheese, carrots and desserts of any kind.
Going down at night around 7 and wake up in the morning at 7 to get ready for Kindergarten.  You sometimes lay down for a rest on Wednesdays after school, before Team Kid and also on Saturdays and Sundays.

Started kindergarten about a month ago and enjoy it so so much!  Your favorite parts are recess and lunch time.  Your teacher says you soak things in like a sponge and want to continually learn everything she throws at you.  We're so proud of you baby girl.
Some of your favorite activities are dancing, swimming, bike riding, soccer, jumping on the trampoline, eating, playing with your brother, coloring and watching shows.

Still taking ballet and tap and are such a little performer.  You also started soccer a few weeks ago.  You and Theo get to play on the same team which you both are loving.

We are so in love with you sweet pea.  Happy half birthday!
