Daisy's Bday & Soccer

Daisy's 9th birthday was on Labor Day so the kids were out of school.  They decided to treat the birthday girl all day!

First up, make a dog house

Next, a walk outside.  It was blazing hot on her bday.  Poor dogs were ready to come in once they stepped outside!

After that, Daisy decided to curl up on Theo's chair and take a good, long nap.

Madelyn: 7 1/2 Years Old

You are 7 1/2 years old today!  You are growing and maturing so much each day.  To celebrate your half birthday, we went to Pizza Inn for dinner.  You love a good pizza buffet!  Your personality is developing into your own little person.  You certainly have your own ideas of what you want and how you want to do it.  We work hard with you to be flexible because some things don't always go how you want them to.  You're slowly realizing that.  We just can't believe how old you're getting and love you so much.

You weigh 50 lbs and 47.5 in tall

Currently in size 7t tops, pants and dresses.  Size 13/1 shoes.  Your newest clothing idea is having a different outfit theme each week.  This week is dresses.  Just love you sweet girl.

Your favorite food is still pizza.

Going to sleep at night around 7pm, some days earlier when it's been a long day at school

Some of your favorite activities are dancing, swimming, bike riding, soccer, jumping on the trampoline, the library, playing with your brother and watching over him at school, coloring, homework and playing with friends.

One of your favorite things is reading.  You typically have your head in a book.  Just love this about you!

You have been in 2nd grade for about a month and a half.  Just loving your teacher, new and old friends and everything about school.  You look forward to going every day.
Going to gymnastics each week and trying your hardest.  We love watching you learn new skills.

You are also playing fall soccer.  You're very competitive and love winning, but are also learning encouragement, team work and good sportsmanship.  Theo also playing on your team along with your friends Baylee and Brody.

We're so proud of you and love watching you grow and develop each day.

Proverbs 22:6

Since both kids are reading, we've been having them read their devotions and bible passages.  We've noticed they stay focused better and they both have enjoyed doing it.

Love this sight.

I was in another room when I heard Madelyn reading her devotion out loud one night.  It was talking about changes in life and made me tear up hearing her read it.  A lot has happened in our family this year and hearing these words come from her just made me remember everything is going to be okay.  Then I walk in there and I see Tim getting a little teary or "juicy" as Theo likes to call it.  Love this little family of mine.

I had her read it after the fact so we could have it on video forever.

"Train a child up in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:6 NASB

MJ Dance Clinic

Madelyn went to a dance clinic at our local high school.  She went a couple years ago and loved it so we decided to let her go again.  She had so much fun!

She loves Miss Belle!

Theo lost his tooth!

Theo lost his first tooth!  It started getting loose at the end of June.  He'd been wiggling, we'd all been wiggling, tried different ways to pop it out and finally the nerf gun did the trick!  As you can hear, we were all surprised it came out!

Then sis decided to finally let Tim pull her tooth.  Her permanent tooth was about halfway in and the baby tooth sticking out on top.

First Day of School

Both kids were so excited about school starting back up this August.  We had such a fun summer, but these two sure do love learning and socializing.

Madelyn started about a week before Theo.  In Kindergarten, the kids have staggered days the first two weeks to get them acclimated to the routine of school.  Madelyn was so excited to know a couple kids in her class before the first day.  Especially one of her really good friends!

MJ & Mommy Day

Before school started back up at the beginning of August, Madelyn and I spent a little girl time together.  First, she wanted to go to Build A Bear.  We don't go there often so when we do, it's a very special treat!

All Done!

After that, she wanted to use some of her summer library coupons and get some pizza.  Her favorite!

Just love spending time with this girl.  Can't believe how grown up she is becoming.

Dance & Ninja Camp

The kids wanted to try some kind of camp this summer.  When we got back from vacation in Florida and Arkansas, we looked into a few.  Finally decided on dance camp for Madelyn and ninja camp for Theo.

Madelyn's camp was close to Tim's work so he took and picked her up everyday.  Camp lasted most of the day and she LOVED it.  This girl can bust a move anytime.  She met some friends and just had a blast.  Madelyn had a short recital the last day and was so excited.  She did a fantastic job.  Thanks to our friends the Hill's for coming to watch.
