Theodore: 9 Months

2.26.2013

Theo,

You are such a sweet, calm little boy.  You let anyone hold you and are absolutely precious to us.

-You now weigh 18 lbs 8 oz and are 27 1/2 in long!

-Still in size 3 diapers and wearing size 6-9 and 9 month clothes.

-You're sitting up like a pro!  You'll go from laying down to sitting up by yourself.  Good job, bubba!

-Still not crawling, but soo very close.

-Naps are from 9:30am-11am and afternoon nap from about 1pm-3pm.  You go down at night around 7pm and wake up between 7:30-8am.  Such a sleepy head!

-Eating 8 oz. every 3.5 to 4 hrs during the day. You eat fruit and veggies 3x a day. You're also eating shredded cheese, ritz crackers, cut up banana and graham crackers.

-Still only have 2 teeth, but drooling like crazy.  Maybe another one is on it's way!

-You love it when your sister is around.  She'll show you how to crawl and read books.  We LOVE seeing this.  You'll be great buddies!

-Right now, your Mimi and Papa are here.  You are loving every minute with them!

Madelyn: 23 Months

2.20.2013

Dear baby girl,

You are 23 months old.  One more month and you'll be 2!  Cannot believe it.  Stop growing, please.

-Wearing size 18 month and 2T clothes.  You are in size 5 diapers and size 6 shoe.

-You tried potty training at the beginning of this month and you weren't quite ready.  You're showing a little more interest.  You'll get there.

-Still 11 teeth, but one more pushing it's way through.

-"talking" like crazy.  Still mostly babble.  You won't say words when we ask you...normally on your own time.

-Napping anywhere from 2-4 hours in the afternoon. Your typical nap is from 1-3:30pm.

-Still loving on your little brother.  You've also started pestering him this month.  Poking his eyes, "honking" his nose and pushing him over.

-Because of the above, you've started time outs already.  The third time we have to tell you "no" or "stop", you go in the time out chair for 1min 45 sec.  You've actually stayed there and stop doing it when we your time is up.

-Still love using your fork and spoon!

-You went roller skating for the first time this month and had such a good time!

-Still very VERY girly.  Love all things pink and sparkly.

-You still go to bed around 7pm.  You'll wake up around 7:30-8am.

-You celebrated your 2nd Valentine's Day!

-You had your very first dentist appointment!

Madelyn's First Time Skating

2.18.2013

Last night was Madelyn's first time skating!  She did such a good job and LOVED it!!  When we first walked in, she freaked out a little bit after seeing everybody on skates, but eventually calmed down and was ready to put hers on.  I put my roller blades on and MJ's skates and we were off!  She skated for about 30 min. on the carpet and then on the rink.  We took a break to eat some dinner and get some water, then she was ready for more.  We did the same thing-on the carpet for a bit, then off to the rink.

So proud of my baby girl.  Maybe we'll have to purchase her some new skates soon :)

Wait, what am I about to do?

Lacing up the skates!

Skiing!

2.17.2013

Yesterday, Tim and I went with some students from the school where we both teach up to Snoqualmie Summit to ski! It only takes about an hour and a half to get there...not too far away. We had about 30 students and 4 chaperones (including us) go along.

I've been skiing once(5 days worth) back in highschool with my youth group, but this was Tim's first time. I remember really enjoying it so I had really been looking forward to going.

We both went to ski school. Since I hadn't been in awhile, thought I would go to remember everything. It came back pretty quick and Tim caught on ok :) his only problem was....stopping.

After lunch, we went on the easiest run to see how we'd do. We got on the lift just fine, but about halfway up there Tim asked..."so, how do we get off this thing?" Needless to say, he got off just fine, but ended up putting his pole down in the middle of my ski's while getting off. Tim said he remembers looking back when he got off and I was laying on the ground. The lady helping with the lift moved me over so no one being us would trip over me. No worries, I was fine :)

We started going down the run and I turn around to see Tim take a dive in the snow and his ski's and poles up in the air. He got up, put them back on and kept going. So I continued on knowing he was alright. I turned around a little later and couldn't see him. I looked to the run next to us and there he was! The runs are right next to each other. He looked like a pro skier....poles up in the air and bending down to make him go fast! I watched a little longer and BAM...on the ground again. I couldn't help but laugh. I went over there, and he was ok. We were almost to the bottom of that run so we finished it off.

When we got off the run, it was about time to gather the kids and leave. We grabbed some coffee and hot chocolate, loaded the vans and headed back.

It was a fun day with new experiences. The students had fun too.

This afternoon, we're taking it easy while the kids nap, then off to a church skate night. Pictures and another post of Madelyn's first time skating to come!

*Tim did say he'd go skiing again :) yay!

*And a BIG thanks to Laura for watching the kids all.day.long.

Madelyn's Dentist Appt

2.04.2013

Madelyn had her first dentist appointment this morning.  She did a great job!  The dentist had me hold her while she checked MJ's teeth.  She'll go back in about 6 months and probably sit in the big chair and go for a spin!  Baby steps.  Don't want to overwhelm her too much.

Tim took a few pictures...

Tim's 30th!

2.02.2013

Happy 30th birthday to my love.

This past Monday a few friends and I threw a surprise party for Tim. We took time to eat dinner, yummy cake and celebrate Tim! He was certainly surprised! Thanks to all who came out to celebrate the old man.

Tonight we have a babysitter coming over and we're going to dinner and a movie! So blessed to have many friends to watch our babies.

Madelyn and I painted a canvas for Tim (thanks to Pinterest for the idea). Madelyn was more interested in all the games in our garage, but that's alright! She assisted mommy :)

Here are a few pictures of the canvas and Tim's party...

During...I had to place the paintbrush in her hand.  She got some on her pants and decided she was done.  Doesn't like a mess!
